The Legacy of Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o: Weep Not, Child of Africa

Professor Ngugi, you taught us that Dreams in time of War should not stop us from Decolonising the Mind, and even when we are In the House of the Interpreter and facing the Barrel of a Pen, The River Between  should not bring about Petals of Blood, for we still have The Homecoming  to celebrate Birth of a Dream Weaver while having Minutes of Glory and  eating A Grain of Wheat, without the fear of The Devil on the Cross  or having Ngugi Detained as he had insisted  that you should Teach Me to be Me while Moving the Centre. Lastly, I tell you Weep Not Child even with The Trial of Dedan Kimathi still, I will Marry When I want.  Rest Professor Ngugi wa Thiong’o for you still are an Oasis of wisdom and a fountain of knowledge.
